SEO News: Suggestions of some top SEOs ,while the list touches on several vital points, it also makes a couple miss-steps. Here are the specifics.
The SEO Tips List
The key points of the list over, and make my own comments after each item.

- Produce unique, dynamic, and authoritative content.
We can all agree that this is a key to getting a website into a successful position. Beyond avoiding the spam flags, quality content also increases social sharing and the likelihood a site will be linked from off-site.
- Utilize long-tail keywords.
While it’s absolutely true that long-tail targeting is an important tactic (especially for small- to medium-size businesses), it’s important to keep in mind that organic CTR is also dramatically lower for long-tail terms.
- Optimize meta tags.
Don’t optimize all your meta tags (meta keywords are dead, and dozens of extra meta tags exist for specialized purposes), but optimize your meta title and description.
- Run a blog.
It’s definitely a good way to build reputation and communicate with people, and it’s a great place to put content, but this is more a social tactic than an SEO. The amount of link juice a blog will generate for the main portion of your site is nice, but certainly doesn’t deserve the #4 position on a top ten list.
- Optimize for local search results.
That’s definitely true, especially with the rise of smartphones and the blended pages from Google that provide Google Places pages on the home page.
- Invest in an SEO and user-friendly domain.
Domains are certainly important, but note that they’ve continued to decline in importance over the last few years. Aim to have a keyword present while keeping the domain memorable and professional.
- Analyze your competitors.
It’s definitely a good springboard into other tactics, and helps you learn how your own industry performs.
- Use content as a platform to build links.
Pushing for organic links by sharing content is by far the best way to get effective, honest links. Just remember to post it on your main site.
9. Set realistic goals.
While being realistic is important, it’s more important to focus your goals on maximizing ROI. Your objectives shouldn’t just be increase traffic by X amount, but increasing profit by X amount. The traffic is just one of several important elements of this.
- Invest in social media marketing.
It’s certainly true that brand awareness, link-sharing, and increased visits to the website will help. It’s also a great way to build relationship. Of course, social media marketing while it belongs to the web marketing category in general isn’t exactly SEO.

Online traffic analysts Compete have published a ranking of the top 50 websites by traffic.
The list, which ranks sites by unique visitors, shows that Bing, Microsoft’s search engine garnered 11% more traffic month-on-month and grew 108% from the same period last year. This is also the first time that Bing has entered the top 10 most visited sites on the web.

Bing, already powering Yahoo’s search, is now also serving online advertising for the web portal. So far, Yahoo is serving ads by Microsoft’s adCentre only in the US and Canada, but this is expected to expand to other countries in the future.
Google is still gets the most web traffic, according to Compete, despite having dropped 1%. It is followed by Yahoo and Facebook.
Other winners and losers include Ask.com, which grew 75% year-on-year, while flagging social media site MySpace continued its decline, losing 19% compared to September last year.
Network security firm Arbor Networks offers slightly conflicting data, saying that Google has gained more than 1% of internet traffic since January, meaning that the search engine and its associated sites now account for 6.4% of all internet traffic.

When the Web continues to grow exponentially, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to make your Web site stand out from all of the other sites and attract visitors. Fortunately, you can take various steps to drive traffic to your Web site. Here are five strategies that can help.

1. Speech of Mouth
The word of mouth is to attract traffic to your site. I have lost count of the number of times I have had friends tell me about a cool new site that I need to check out. Remember, if you give people a reason to talk about your site.
2. Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization it’s such an obvious requirement. But I decided to go ahead and talk about it so I could emphasize that even if a site has already been optimized, it may be worth reviewing it from time to time. Occasionally, search engines change their rules –and if that happens, a site that is highly optimized today might not receive favorable rankings tomorrow.
3. Social networking sites
Social networking sites can be a great mechanism for driving traffic to your Web site. The Facebook page is much more casual than the organization’s Web site, Facebook friends up to date on what the charity is doing. The Facebook page is essentially a way of augmenting the organization’s Web content without having to alter its Web site.
4. Using link exchanges carefully
Google takes a site’s popularity into account when creating page rankings. One of the ways in which a site’s popularity is determined is by looking at the number of other Web sites that link to it. As a result, some people try to boost their site’s popularity by using link exchanges.
While link exchanges do work, you want to be careful. If Google determines that the sites that are linking to your site are nothing but link exchange sites, or if sites linking to yours have a bad reputation, your site may be penalized with a poor search engine ranking.
5. Subscribing to relevant directory sites
Whatever field you’re in, there are probably Web sites that act as a professional directory for it. And directory sites exist for even the strangest professions. I once met someone who maintains an online directory of paranormal researchers. So I recommend seeking out any online directories that match your field and have your site added to the list.

Here some essential SEO tips that must be borne in mind when writing quality web content. Compelling content is the prerequisite to getting higher rankings and more web traffic. Therefore, it is important to insure the SEO and user friendliness of your web content.
Unique and Original Content
Websites with unique and original content are rewarded with higher rankings and more visibility on search engines. This results in generating more visitors to your content. For this reason, one must never copy the content from other websites. It is also important to be cautious if you use Content Creation and Content Spinning software. The former software brings data from multiple sources and then creates a meaningful article. After that, the latter software spins the article and creates different versions of it in an attempt to make it unique. The content rendered from these two tools is not always original. Sometimes it reaches 32% of uniqueness only. Hence, one must be careful when using these content software.
Keywords
Some writers spend much time conducting keyword research but they do not use and place their keywords properly. Your main keywords inform both search engines and Internet users about the core of your content.
Keywords must be mentioned in these places:
1. Title Tag (the name of the web page).
2. The beginning, the body and the end of your article.
3. The article title.
4. Headlines.
It is important not to overuse keywords because it can backfire on you. Also, do not try to be clever with titles like newspapers. The search engines can penalize you. Make sure that the title is relevant to the content.

You need your website to be ranked high and more often in Google, There is an essential to know a handful of techniques regarding SEO (search engine optimization). When you optimize your web pages so Google can more easily find you, you’re sure to be found much more often when prospects are searching for your products or services.
The most important word to remember through each of these tips is “keywords.” Think of keywords as search engine magnets. The more relevant keywords you have in the right places on your pages, the more energy you are giving Google to find your website and have it appear in search results.

Tip 1: The Power of Links
My first tip is for you to get as many links as you can to your website from other websites. These are called, “inbound links“. When other websites have a link to your website, Google is more likely to see your website as authoritative and more important, your web pages when it comes to SEO will be more valuable. However, not all inbound links are created equal. The bigger the website you can get to link to you.
Tip 2: Page Titles
Page titles appear as the headline in Google search results. You should have page titles that are both relevant to what’s on that specific page, as well as keyword rich. Google allows you to use up to 70 characters in your page title, so maximize that real estate wisely.
Tip 3: Page Descriptions
When you’re looking at any search result in Google, the non bold text under the page title is a “page description.” Google allows you to use 155 characters for your page description. Use the same rules as the page titles tip, but also think of these 155 characters as a mini-ad for the content that’s on the specific page you’re optimizing.
Tip 4: Maximizing Page Content
The power of keywords also extends to the content on your web pages. Although your page copy doesn’t appear in the Google search results, Google will index this content to make sure it matches up with your page title and page description. You’re going to want at least 300 words on each of your pages for Google to index (500 is even better). Be sure your keywords are mentioned close to 3 to 5 percent of the page content.
Tip 5: More Pages
The more pages you feed Google, the more juice you have on your site to be found by Google. The best way to do this is by having a blog as part of your website. A blog is a simple way to produce weekly, biweekly or even monthly articles, posts or company information that can be picked up by Google.
